South Carolina-based OB Hospitalist Group has raised a nearly $8.1 million line of equity,according to SEC documents.

The group, which develops and manages 24-7, in-house OB/GYN hospitalist programs for a number of hospitals, has had more than 607,000 patient interactions that otherwise may not have been handled by a physician. It also says it has successfully managed over 23,700 high-risk encounters while delivering more than 52,000 babies and has supported over 31,600 surgical assists.

Details on what the group intends on doing with the line of equity are not yet clear. Attempts to reach CEO David Swain and Chief Medical Officer Christopher Swain have not yet been returned.
